The Mercedes Cup venue, TC Weissenhof, is renowned for its exceptionally beautiful setting. Seventeen open-air clay courts are dotted around the park-like grounds, and apart from an attractive club house, there are shops and restaurants to tempt the hundreds of spectators who flock to TC Weissenhof each year in July for the Mercedes Cup.

Weissenhof was founded in 1894 as the Stuttgart Lawn Tennis Club, and as early as 1898 it hosted its first international tennis tournament. Prior to the First World War, the club moved to new premises at Muhlenbachhof and was re-named TC Weissenhof. Two years later, in 1916, the first complete international tennis tournament was held, called the International Weissenhofturnier.

The 1950s and 60s saw huge renovations to the club, including a new clubhouse and the famed centre court, where most recently Rafael Nadal has thrilled the crowds with his clay court prowess. The club has been the Mercedes Cup venue since 1978.
